Spring Break!!!!
We have made it to the 4th week.
The 1st week we really just jumped into the history and background info. of homeopathy.
The 2nd week we went into the way that homeopathy works, and what it can do, what do we consider when deciding which remedy to prescribe.
The 3rd week we started looking at what to do in order to take a case. You have to look at the symptoms of course, but more importantly, look at the person who HAS the symptoms. There are about 12 modalities, or factors that affect the person who has the symptoms. These are on pages 27-31 and I made a hand-out that outlines them for us.

This is the 4th week- we used the handout/outline of the modalities and discussed how they come into play when deciding which remedy to give. There is another chart to use in conjunction with the outline. The chart has a list of remedies and you rank them according to how they relate to the symptoms.

The textbook has a nice chart to follow regarding flu, flu-like symptoms and fever. We got as far as page 61 tonight.
Each week we have also highlighted a specific remedy- tonight I went more in depth and gave information regarding the remedy Arsenicum Album. It is useful for many things, mostly Asthma, food poisoning, and coughs. It is also a constitutional remedy.
The book I have been waiting for has finally come, so hopefully everyone will be back next week and we can all take the questionnaire to find out what constititional remedy most suits us.
The workbooks have not come and I cannot get NCH to return my calls. The workbooks were out of stock, but I just want an idea as to how long it will take, in the meantime, we will continue to plow through the book.

By WEDNESDAY OF next week, we will begin to go into depth regarding coughs, colds, and sinus issues. Please read over, become familiar with the pages 62-92. I know, that sounds like a LOT but it is mostly information about specific remedies. Just become familiar with the set up and the main points about the different symptoms that remedies can treat.
We may have to spend 2 weeks on this chapter.

Remedies that we have highlighted so far are:
Arnica- sore muscles
Nux Vomica- stomachaches, over-eating or over-doing
Sulphur - Skin issues, colds, digestive issues
Arsenicum- asthma, food poisoning, cough

Please remember that all remedies do so much more than is listed above, this is just a small tidbit of what the remedies are capable of.

The main thing I hope that you learn by attending this class, is that homeopathy can help you to get better, and stay well. Improving your health is what this is all about.
Please continue to come to class, even if you don't read the book, the class is to help you learn how to use the book, not testing you over what you have read.

Here's to your health!!!
~Lori
